Red-headed woodpecker

While hiking I heard the familiar "thump

thump" of a woodpecker nearby. It took

me awhile to find him in the woods.

Venturing off the trail just a bit (don't tell

the hubby) I finally saw him on a dead

tree. He started to call to a friend.

Let's be honest, Willow is more of a sprinter than a marathon runner.  However, she does her very best to keep up with her bigger little brother, Ludo.
